Police deploy taser stun guns at altercation in west Belfast
Police deployed taser stun guns after they were called to an altercation in west Belfast.
It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning at a block of apartments in the Springmeadow area.
A man aged in his 20s and a woman aged in her 30s were treated for non-life threatening injuries after another man was reported to have brandished a knife.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of a number of offences including possessing an article with blade or point in a public place, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.
Taser stun guns were deployed by officers at the scene and a referral has been made to the Police Ombudsman.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service were called by the PSNI and were there within five minutes. They were initially called to a report of one male suffering stab wounds but on arrival treated two patients.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
