Police dog Jaz on patrol in Belfast over festive season

A police dog has sniffed out 10 drug carriers in Belfast city centre over the weekend.

Police dog Jaz is one of PSNI's Passive Drugs Detection Dogs out on patrol in Belfast.

The gorgeous golden retriever is highly trained in a unique skill to find drugs carried on people in public areas.

Whilst assisting officers in their patrol in Belfast city centre on Friday, PD Jaz sniffed out ten positive indications on members of the public carrying drugs. This included bus and train stations.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland took to Facebook to make people aware that "if you are carrying drugs, they will find it."

They also stated as they festive season continues, more and more police dogs will be seen out and about keeping the public safe.
