Police find four pipe bombs during search in Portadown

Four pipe bombs have been discovered during a search operation in Portadown.

Working parts of a firearm were also recovered by police.

The items were found during a search in the People's Park area of the town.

It is understood the pipe bombs were not viable and t he PSNI said the search has ended.

Inspector Leslie Badger said: "The investigation is at an early stage and we are working to establish how old the items are and whether this find is linked to historic terrorist activity."
