Police granted extra time to question Clogher murder suspects

Police have been granted an additional 36 hours time to question two people arrested in connection with a murder in Clogher, Co Tyrone.

The body of 30-year-old Pat Ward was discovered in an alleyway at McCrea Park on Saturday morning.

A 23-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of Mr Ward's murder on Saturday.

Police have now been granted an additional 36 hours by a court to question them.

A PSNI spokesperson has confirmed that Mr Ward was from the Clogher area.

A post-mortem examination on the body of Mr Ward has yet to take place but police are treating his death as murder.
