The police helicopter was deployed in pursuit of a Volkswagen Golf being driven at more than 100mph on Wednesday night.
Police in north Belfast received reports of the car near the Marrowbone Millennium Park on the Oldpark Road.
The PSNI helicopter was deployed just before midnight and reported an abandoned car in the area and a second car leaving the scene. The Golf then drove at speeds of more than 100mph through Newtownabbey, Doagh, Ballymena, Broughshane and Carnlough, tracked by the helicopter and police drivers.
The pursuit ended when the car crashed on the Munie Road between Glenarm and Ballymena at around 1.10am. The occupants of the vehicle made off before police arrived at the scene.
Inspector Paul Noble said: "The gates to the Millennium Park were damaged as a result of the earlier incident and the abandoned car set alight in the grounds of the park."
Police have appealed for information.
