Police hunt after boy assaulted

Police are hunting for a man after a teenage boy was sexually assaulted near Belfast city centre.

The victim was walking with a friend on Frederick Street when he was targeted by a man with a scar on his face.

The incident happened at about 6pm on Sunday, however police have only just released details.

The attacker was described as being aged between 30 and 40 years old, about 5ft 8 inches tall and of average build. He was wearing a football top, black tracksuit bottoms and beanie hat. The scar was on the left side of his face.

Chief inspector Norman Haslett from the Police Service of Northern Ireland said : "I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this incident, especially the driver of a silver car who passed by, to contact police on 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
