Police hunt thugs who beat up man in own home

Thugs have smashed up a home and assaulted a resident in Co Tyrone.

The attack happened at Drumcairne Road in Stewartstown yesterday just before 11am.

Two men entered the property and attacked the homeowner before making off.

Police said: "One of the attackers was described as being 40 years of age, had a full facial beard, around 5ft 9ins in height, wearing a yellow fluorescent jacket with jeans and speaking with a local accent.

"The second male is described as being around 40 years of age, with a jacket and jeans and also speaking with a local accent.

"The householder, who is an older person, was treated for minor injuries and was badly shaken as a result of the attack."

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the reference 395 with the date 23/07/2018.
