Police investigate small explosion at house in west Belfast
There has been a report of a small explosion in west Belfast on Wednesday.
Police were called just after 8pm to the rear of a house in the Crees Lough Court area.
There are no reports of any injuries at this time.
Police enquiries are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1198 of 07/07/18.
Sinn Fein Councillor Arder Carson has condemned the bomb attack on the house in the Lenadoon area.
Mr Carson said: "An explosive device was thrown at a home near Carrigart Avenue in Lenadoon.
“This device was thrown in a residential area, populated with young families and elderly residents.
“The PSNI have now mounted an operation in the surrounding area.
The west Belfast representative added: "My understanding is that this was a viable bomb and this is an extremely reckless incident which has place the lives of residents at risk.
“Those responsible have no regard at all for local people.
“I unreservedly condemn this attack and anyone with information should bring that forward to the PSNI.”
