Police issue fresh appeal over fatal road crash

By Michelle Weir

Police investigating a fatal road accident have made a fresh appeal for information.

Anthony McGhee (57), from Dunloy in Co Antrim, died following a collision at Glarryford outside Ballymena.

The accident occurred around 6.30pm on Tuesday November 28 at the junction of the Crankill Road and the Kildowney Road.

It involved a gold Nissan Qashquai and a silver Saab, which was towing a trailer at the time.

The PSNI specifically appealed to the driver of a vehicle that turned off the main carriageway onto the Kildowney Road a short time before the collision.

Police believe this driver may have information which could assist in the investigation.

Witnesses are asked to contact police in Ballymena on 101 quoting reference number 1084 28/11/17.

It is thought Mr McGhee, a joiner from Hawthorne Crescent in the Co Antrim village, was travelling home from work when the accident occurred.

Another casualty was taken to Antrim Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
