Police issue urgent appeal over Dungannon car smash

A 19-year-old man is being treated in hospital for serious injuries following a crash in Dungannon. Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the two-vehicle collision on the Carrycastle Road on Monday.

PSNI Sergeant Eraj Amiraraghi said it was reported just after 9.15pm.

A red Volkswagen Jetta and a red Vauxhall Corsa were involved.

"The 28-year-old driver of the Jetta and the 28-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries while the 19-year-old driver of the Corsa required hospital treatment for his injuries, which are believed to be serious," said the officer.

The road was closed for a time but has since reopened.

"We are appealing to anyone that may have any information or to anyone that may have witnessed the incident to contact Dungannon police station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1271 on 12/12/16," said the PSNI.
