Police name man who was killed by tree falling onto his van in storm
A man killed after storms blew a tree onto his catering van in Lisburn has been named by police as David William Bell from south Belfast.
The 56-year-old from Beechgrove Gardens died on the Hillsborough Road on Thursday.
The tree, described by local residents as a mature oak, was understood to be of significant size. It crushed the driver's side of the white van.
Road conditions across Northern Ireland are highly dangerous this weekend after thawed snow refroze overnight.
