Detectives in Omagh are investigating after shots were fired at a house in Sixmilecross in Co Tyrone.

Detective Constable Caroline Crawford said a report was made to police on Saturday afternoon that a number of shots had been fired at a house on Foremass Road "causing damage to the walls and to the windows of the property".

"Thankfully, there have been no reports of any injuries," she said.

"An inquiry is under way, and we are working to establish a motive for this reckless attack and when exactly it was carried out.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area in the past couple of days, in particular anyone who was out and walking their dog between Thursday (December 12) and Sunday, or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity, including persons or vehicles, to call us on 101, quoting reference number 929 of 14/12/19."
