The PSNI are appealing for information

A shotgun and ammunition have been found during searches in Belfast.

The discovery was made in the Annandale Crescent area of the city on Wednesday.

Police Service of Northern Ireland Detective Sergeant Craig Haddock said: "The items have been taken away for forensic examination.

"We are appealing to anyone with any information or to anyone that may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives."

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 339 on 16/11/16.
