Police probe petrol bomb attack in Ballymena

Police are investigating an attempted petrol bomb attack in Ballymena.

It was thrown at a house in the Lantarra area of the town on Friday night, but failed to ignite.

PSNI constable McToal said: "It is understood the incident occurred shortly before midnight with petrol bombs being thrown at the window of a property but failing to ignite.

"This was an extremely reckless attack and it is fortunate that the were no injuries as a result of it.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have information which may assist the investigation to contact police at Ballymena on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1463 24/03/17. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
