Police quiz man over axe murder of Ardoyne man
A man was being questioned last night by detectives investigating the murder of a father-of-two in north Belfast.
Basil McAfee (50), also known as Paschal, was bludgeoned to death in his Henderson Avenue home off Cavehill Road, on December 20.
Mr McAfee, from Ardoyne, had axe wounds to his body.
He had also been stabbed a number of times and his home ransacked.
A 54-year-old man was arrested in east Belfast yesterday and taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
