Police recover 'stun gun' after incident in Belfast city centre - one man arrested

A 27-year-old man arrested following the seizure of a suspected stun gun and a quantity of drugs in Belfast city centre has been released.

Police were alerted by CCTV operators about a man acting suspiciously in the Castle Street area of Belfast at around 10.15am on Wednesday.

CCTV operators guided police to a suspect who, when challenged to stop by an officer, attempted to run away.

The male fell as he attempted to flee and was subsequently arrested under suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of class B and C drugs. Police also recovered a suspected stun gun.

The man was later released pending further investigation.

Police appealed for anyone with information to contact officers on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
