Police searches in Comber related to William McCormick murder investigation

Police are conducting searches in Comber town centre in connection with the disappearance and murder of William McCormick.

Mr McCormick, who is known as Pat, was last seen walking down Castle Street in Comber at around 10.45pm on May 30.

The 55-year-old's disappearance was changed to a murder inquiry after police review the evidence.

On Monday afternoon police confirmed it was carrying out further searches in the town.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police are conducting searches in the Comber town centre area this evening as part of their ongoing investigation into the disappearance and murder of William (Pat) McCormick."

Last week police released CCTV footage showing Mr McCormick's last movements.
