Police are treating graffiti daubed on a wall in Coleraine saying "no refugees welcome" as a hate crime.

The graffiti was sprayed on a wall of the Salvation community church on the Ballycastle Road.

Police in Coleraine are investigating criminal damage caused by the graffiti.

Inspector Donna Bowden said: “We are treating the matter as a hate crime.

"Anyone with any information that may assist our investigation is asked to call police on the non-emergency 101 number. Or you can contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
