Two people have been arrested after police uncovered a cannabis factory in Co Antrim.

A total of 81 plants were found during a routine enquiry at a house in Antrim town on Tuesday afternoon.

Posting on social media, PSNI Antrim said: "Note to resident, close the door of the room you’ve converted into a cannabis factory along with the 81 plants you’re nurturing along. The police might just be interested in such a room.

"Antrim's version of Cheech and Chong were subsequently arrested. Whilst we hear mention of the words medicinal and legalise when we post messages like this, those are issues out of our hands.

"We deal with criminal offences and the debate about the use of such plants is one to take up with your elected reps."
