Postman attacked with screwdriver in Belfast

A postman has been attacked and robbed by a man with a small screwdriver in north Belfast on Saturday.

Police received a report of the incident which happened in the Cranbook Court area just after 10am.

The postman was standing at the back of his van when was attacked from behind by an unknown male.

He was struck to the back and the arm but remained uninjured.

Sergeant Hagan said: "The attacker then made off towards Farringdon with some of the contents from the van.

"I am asking that anyone with information contact 101 quoting reference 404 10/03/18. . Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
