Prince Edward ends busy day at Hillsborough garden party

Prince Edward has planted a tree to mark his visit to the annual Hillsborough Castle Garden Party.

The Earl of Wessex was the guest of honour at yesterday's event hosted by Secretary of State Theresa Villiers.

On his arrival, the grounds were filled with the National Anthem as the band of the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service greeted the royal guest.

It was the last stop on a busy day for the Prince whose previous engagements included the opening of a new £500,000 sports hall and a Duke of Edinburgh Award Volunteer reception at the Killyleagh Outdoor Education Centre in Co Down.
