Prize-winning snaps strictly for the birds
This stunning image of two swallows facing off on a wire has captured an award for photographer Laurie Campbell from Magherafelt.
The photograph won the advanced category in the annual Work of Northern Ireland Bird Photographers show, which went on display to a large audience in the Kennedy Room at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum in Cultra last week.
Meanwhile, Stephen Maxwell from Belfast won the intermediate category and was awarded the C Douglas Deane Tankard for a photo of stonechats, while a beautiful image of a wren was taken by Dick Glasgow from Armoy who won the Simon McIlreavy Salver and the Tom Ennis Cup for best photograph and best portfolio in the beginners' category.
The junior category was won by Neil McCartney from Armagh, who was awarded the Terry Lee Memorial Cup for an image of a robin on a twig.
