The funeral of a respected high court judge who chaired the Historical Abuse Inquiry will take place this Wednesday.

Sir Anthony Hart died suddenly last Tuesday. He is survived by his wife Mary and children Patrick, Fiona, Katherine and David.

His funeral service will take place in St Mark's Church, Dundela on Wednesday at 1pm. The committal will be on Thursday at 2pm at Devenish Parish Churchyard, Monea, Co Fermanagh.

Among the many paying tributes to Sir Anthony last week was Marty Adams of the Survivors Together group.

"Victims of historical abuse are very thankful and grateful for the help and support he gave to victims during his public inquiry," he said.

"It was Sir Anthony who believed in victims and it was Sir Anthony who delivered the truth when others failed. We offer our sincere condolences to his family circle at this sad time."

Many other senior figures from public life in Northern Ireland also praised his years of service.

Head of the Civil Service, David Sterling, called him a "hugely respected figure in NI and a man of great integrity with an unflinching pursuit of the truth".
