Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died after becoming trapped under machinery on the Bog Road in Co Armagh.

It's understood, he was tarring and chipping the road when the accident happened on Wednesday May 31.

The man, a Polish national, was trapped under machinery on the Bog Road, Forkhill in Co Armagh.

The police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the incident, but have not released any further details.

Issuing a public appeal on Friday, Inspector Lynne Corbet said: I would ask anyone that may have been in the immediate area at the time and witnessed this incident to contact Ardmore Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 492 of the 31/01/17.

"Alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
