PSNI hails public after trio held over drugs

Three men have been arrested for dangerous driving and drugs offences in west Belfast.

Police were contacted after a car was spotted driving erratically on Thursday afternoon on Bell Steel Road, Dunmurry.

Officers followed the vehicle a short distance before stopping it on Kennedy Way.

A 21-year-old was arrested for driving while unfit through drink or drugs and possession of drugs. A 22-year-old and a 20-year-old were arrested on a range of drug charges.

Inspector Mike White praised individuals who alerted police.

"By contacting us and giving us the details about this incident, we were able to respond quickly and achieve a safe outcome.

"I would encourage anyone who sees anything suspicious or illegal, to alert police by calling 999 in an emergency or on 101 to discuss any issues. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and pass on any details that you may have."
