PSNI hero dog helps rescue missing woman on Cave Hill

By Staff Reporter

The PSNI has paid tribute to their hero dog who helped save the life of a woman on Cave Hill in freezing temperatures.

The rescue mission came as the Beast from the East took hold over Northern Ireland last weekend.

A vulnerable woman had been missing for 12 hours as the cold conditions crept in and the PSNI hunted for the high risk missing person.

But thanks to Csacsi they found her.

Officers said: "Without doubt one of our police dogs saved a life last weekend. Having been missing for 12 hours we were fearing the worst.

"However, thanks to police dog Csacsi, he located the woman in thick woodland, unconscious and hypothermic. The handler warmed her as best he could, calling for urgent medical assistance.

"Thanks to their actions the lady is recovering well."
