PSNI hunt for taxi hijackers who crashed vehicle in Ballyclare

Police are looking for three men who assaulted a taxi driver and hijacked his car at the weekend in Belfast.

The men forced the driver out of the car in Corrs Corner after they punched him in the head and mouth.

They took off in the car but later crashed it on the Lisnalinchy Road before fleeing the scene.

The taxi driver picked up the offenders in Botanic Avenue in Belfast in the early hours of Friday morning.

"One of the males was wearing a green hooded top with white writing on the front and back, another was wearing a brown hooded top and also a beanie type hat with a white stripe on the front and the third one was wearing a black hooded top,” a PSNI spokesperson told the Ballyclare Gazette.
