PSNI join search for missing Westmeath teen

By Claire Williamson

A teenage girl missing from the Irish Republic may now be in Northern Ireland, police have revealed.

Kirsty Salmon from Co Westmeath has been missing since last Thursday.

The PSNI has issued an appeal for information on her whereabouts as they are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

The 14-year-old – who has been living in the Mullingar area of Co Westmeath – may have travelled to Northern Ireland as she is known to frequent Downpatrick, Belfast and Lisburn.

Kirsty is described as being around 5ft 4ins tall, of slim build, with dark hair and pale skin.

When she was last seen on Thursday afternoon, she was wearing black leggings, a white tank top and a black zip-up top.

Police in Downpatrick are appealing for Kirsty, or anyone who knows of her whereabouts, to contact them on the non-emergency number, 101.
