PSNI resorts to rhyme in its crusade against crime

By Cate McCurry

The PSNI showed off its more romantic side after getting into the spirit of Valentine's Day yesterday.

A number of poems which appeared on its social media accounts caused a bit of a stir.

The usual romantic messages were replaced with warnings to criminals.

"Roses are red, our lights are blue, if you've got a bench warrant, we're coming for you," appeared on the PSNI Craigavon Facebook page.

Another one read: "Roses are red, drugs are a sin. Tell us who's dealing, we'll smash their door in."

The post gained almost 9,000 hits on Facebook and generated more than a thousand comments, with the vast majority praising the police.

Another read: "Roses are red, but watch out for p****s. If you drink and drive, you're gonna (sic) get nicked."
