Race for rodents returns

Young Farmers in Co Tyrone are rehearsing their rodent repartee in preparation for the return of a long-dormant race with a difference.

In days gone by Cookstown Young Farmers’ Club held a ‘mouse race’ as a light-hearted antidote to the rigours of the daily grind down on the farm.

Once the bread and butter of farmers’ entertainment the mouse race is set for an epic return to “put the squeak back into life”.

This Friday, March 30, CYFC club members will throw open the doors of Cookstown Hockey Club for a night of fun and frolics and the chance to win prizes. The club says you’d be “squeaking mad to miss it”.
