Racist attack: Two arrested after home targeted in hate crime

Two people have been arrested after a racist attack at a house in west Belfast.

Windows were smashed at a house in the Broom Street area at around 8.40pm.

Police have said they are treating the attack as a hate crime.

PSNI inspector Murphy said: "One female aged 50, and one male aged 34, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage at residential premises at the Broom Street.

"Shortly before 8.40pm, it was reported that a number of windows of a house in the area were smashed. It is believed that a female resident was in the property at the time of the incident, but was not injured.

"Both persons are currently in police custody, but at this stage the incident is being treated as a hate crime."
