A pensioner from Aughnacloy who was critically injured after a burglary remains in a stable condition.

Pat Davidson, aged 83, was found lying injured under a window of her Co Tyrone home on January 23.

She was discharged from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast yesterday and taken for further treatment at Craigavon Area Hospital.

Police are treating the case as attempted murder and have again appealed for information.

Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said the investigation into the "horrific incident" was ongoing and that he believed the crime was connected to three other burglaries in the Aughnacloy, Ballygawley and Seskinore areas.

He added that a silver Ford Focus initially thought to be linked to the burglary, with false registration 06 WX 6313, has now been eliminated from the investigation.

Detectives can be contacted by calling the non-emergency 101 number, extension 53135, quoting reference 1218 of 23/01/18.
