Rain nightclub crossbow attack accused remanded
A man accused of launching a crossbow attack on a nightclub has expressed remorse, a court has heard.
John Gorman (32) faces charges connected to a bolt being fired at door staff outside the Rain club in Belfast on January 11.
He is accused of four counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage to a glass panel.
Gorman, of no fixed address, is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent, during the same incident. A detective constable said he could connect him with the alleged offences.
But a solicitor for the accused asked the officer: “It is correct that during interview Mr Gorman presented as showing remorse.”
The detective confirmed that regret had been expressed.
No bail application was made and Gorman was remanded in custody to appear again by video link on May 2.
