The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain in Northern Ireland this weekend.

The warning will be in place from 9am on Saturday until 3pm on Sunday.

It comes after a week of beautiful weather and high temperatures across the province.

The Met Office has warned the public to expect heavy rainfall which may lead to flooding in a few places and travel disruption.

It could lead to difficult driving conditions and road closures in some areas.

There is also a small chance and homes and businesses could flood.

"An area of rain is expected to move slowly and erratically northwestwards across parts of the UK on Saturday and Sunday, and while some places within the warning area may see very little others could see several hours of heavy rain," a Met Office spokesperson said.

"Accumulations of 40-60mm are possible, with perhaps as much as 80-100mm in places, especially over high ground."
