Rally ace Garry Jennings is charged with theft

A leading rally driver has been charged in court with two counts of theft. Garry Jennings (36), of Rosscah View, Kesh, Co Fermanagh, is preparing for the Donegal International Rally which starts today – an event he won in 2012.

Jennings was charged at Letterkenny District Court in Co Donegal with two counts of theft at Donegal Farm Machinery at Bonagee, Letterkenny, last September. No details of the alleged thefts were given in court.

The case was put back until September 22 for hearing.

Last month,Jennings agreed to forfeit a lorry tanker and fuel seized by HM Revenue and Customs officers. It had applied to Fermanagh Magistrates Court for forfeiture of the lorry seized at a filling station in Enniskillen on August 6 last year.
