Rare parrots stolen in Co Down: Parrots Harry, Jack and Pedro are now missing after robbery in Newcastle
A Co Down visitor attraction has been left devastated after three of its much-loved and rare parrots were stolen.
Three birds were taken from the Seaforde Gardens and Tropical Butterfly House close to Newcastle between 6.30pm on Sunday evening and 9am on Monday morning.
The birds - two African Greys and an Amazonian parrot - were stolen along with five terrapins.
Their owner - Anthea Forde - said they birds would have been traumatised by the theft.
"These poor things. Parrots are very, very highly strung and in the middle of the night, people coming into your cage," she said.
Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them on the new non-emergency number, 101.
