Red Arrows flying back to Northern Ireland
The world-famous Red Arrows are set to thrill fans at this year's Northern Ireland International Airshow after withdrawing from last year's event due to the tragic death of one of their pilots during a display.
Organisers of the airshow — which attracts up to 200,000 visitors each year — announced the return of the RAF display team on their Facebook account yesterday to the delight of their legions of local followers.
Last year they pulled out of their appearance after Flt Lt Jon Egging (33), from Rutland, was killed when his Hawk T1 aircraft crashed following a display at the Bournemouth Air Festival.
The Red Arrows are the undoubted star attraction of the Portrush weekend, set to be held on September 8 and 9.
