Renewed appeal on couple’s murder

By Amanda Poole

Detectives investigating the murder of a couple in Co Armagh last Monday have renewed their appeal for witnesses.

At around 6pm on March 7 the bodies of Hugh McGeough (56) and his wife Jacqueline (44) were discovered at their Craigavon home by their son Martin.

Police believe the couple let the killer or killers into their home at 136 Legahory Court and that they were shot dead at around 11am.

Police returned to Craigavon yesterday to operate a series of checkpoints in an effort to gather information about events before and after the double shooting.

Police want to hear from anyone who was in touch with the couple between 1.30pm on Sunday 6 and 6pm on March 7.

They also want to talk to anyone who saw vehicles outside the couple's home at around 11am last Monday, or who saw anyone entering or leaving the house.

Detectives can be contacted on 028 38 366 366 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
