Rescue team pulls body of woman out of the Lagan
A woman's body has been recovered from the River Lagan in south Belfast.
Police are investigating the death of the woman, whose body was discovered yesterday morning in the river at Shaw's Bridge.
A post mortem is due to be carried out, but at this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious.
It is being reported that the woman may have been in her 60s.
Emergency services were sent to the incident, and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service sent four fire appliances to the scene at 10.55am.
It is understood one applicance came from Central Fire Station, with another from Cadogan Fire Station in south Belfast.
The remaining appliances were from the Specialist Rescue Team.
A NI Fire and Service spokesperson said: "A specialist NIFRS rescue team recovered the body from the water.
"The incident was dealt with by 12.33pm."
