Rescued pups in search for a new home

By Paul Higgins

Can you help give these six pups and their mum their permanent homes?

Rescued along with a handful of other dogs just after Christmas, Ellie the pug/terrier cross was heavily pregnant when she was placed with a foster family. She gave birth to her six puppies, four boys and two girls, on January 14.

Newtownards animal sanctuary Assisi is looking for permanent homes for the pooches. Foster 'mum' Pam said: "Ellie has really come out of her shell and she's been a fantastic mama to the puppies. She was in an awful state when she first arrived. Since she's been with us, Ellie's now pretty much house trained."

Pups Donald, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Minnie and Daisy, however, will need lots of training.
