Resident in knife threat

Police in south Belfast are appealing for witnesses and information following an aggravated burglary at a house in the Salisbury Court area.

Around 10.15am on Saturday, January 9, two men — one brandishing a knife — entered the property and threatened the male householder.

They ransacked a number of rooms before one of the men took him to a nearby ATM and forced him to withdraw cash.

They returned to the house where the intruders removed three paintings before leaving the premises.

The victim was physically uninjured but very shaken following the ordeal.

One of the paintings taken was a limited edition signed Rolf Harris self portrait with a gold edge gilt frame.

Detectives in Musgrave Street are investigating and can be contacted on 0845 6008000. Alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
