Residents threatened with hatchet in Portadown burglary

Two residents have been left badly shaken after being threatened with a hatchet during an aggravated burglary in Portadown.

The burglary happened at around 5.15am on Thursday in the Lisnisky Walk area of the town.

Police said a man entered the house and, when he was disturbed, fled with a handbag and three tablets.

PSNI Detective Inspector McCamley said: "During the incident, two householders were threatened with a hatchet, and while both were uninjured they were left badly shaken.

“I am appealing to anyone with information, or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area early this morning, to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 299 of 11/07/19.”
