Revamp for Orange Hall in Ballintoy
One of Northern Ireland's oldest Orange Halls, boasting stunning views over the Causeway coastline, has re-opened following major refurbishment - and now includes a guesthouse.
Ballintoy Orange Hall - a former schoolhouse - did not have electricity and until 2016 lodge members met under gas lamps.
The restored hall of Ballintoy Rising Sons of William LOL 803 was officially opened yesterday by the Orange Order's Deputy Grand Master Harold Henning.
Lodge worshipful master Wesley Craig said it was a proud day for his brethren, and also revealed the adjoining teacher's residence has been transformed to offer accommodation to let for up to six people, including holidaymakers.
He added that they believe they are the only lodge in the country to offer this.
