Revealed: How much does the average civil servant earn in Northern Ireland?
Official figures have revealed that one in ten civil servants in Northern Ireland earns more than £40,000 per year.
The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency's report, released on Thursday, December 14, also revealed that the average basic salary is £24,975, a 1% increase on the equivalent figure for 2016.
Some 10% of Northern Ireland Civil Service staff earn £20,487 or less.
At senior grade level, 96% of staff received pay increases, with 93% receiving pay increases of between 2% and 3.9%.
The report also found that there was no gap between male and female pay with their salaries being equal.
The average earnings for full-time staff in the civil service is £478 per week. The average earnings for full-time staff in the private sector at £402 per week.
