An official Stormont strategy for removing problematic bonfires is already in place, with a memorandum of understanding between three government departments and the PSNI, it can be revealed.

There have been calls for mandatory regulations and a proper plan for dealing with the issue to be put in place after a series of controversial loyalist pyres this month.
