River Foyle body find believed to be missing man Mark Gallagher

Police say they believe a body found in the River Foyle is that of missing man Mark Gallagher.

Mr Gallagher was reported missing on Friday, October 13.

In a statement police said a body was recovered from the River Foyle at around 10.30am on Tuesday.

"It is believed to be that of missing person Mark Gallagher. There are no suspicious circumstances and the body has been taken for a post mortem examination and to be identified," police said.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time."

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
