Riverdance to mark 25 years with new tour
Stars of the original Riverdance troupe helped to launch a 25th anniversary tour of the hit dance show yesterday.
Twenty members who were in the show when it began, and the new Riverdance troupe - none of whom were born when it started - gathered outside 3Arena in Dublin.
They included Eileen Martin, one of the original dancers, and current lead dancer, Amy Mae Dolan, from Co Tyrone,
Riverdance originated as an interval act during the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, before being expanded into a stage show, which opened in Dublin in 1995. The new show will play 3Arena for five performances from February 6 to 9.
