RNLI's life-saving equipment stolen

Thieves have stolen life-saving equipment from an RNLI hut on the Murlough Beach in Co Down.

Sometime between 6.15pm on Sunday, July 14, and 10.10am on Monday, July 15, burglars forced the door of the hut, and stole two sets of binoculars and an air horn.

"The items stolen are used by lifeguards to scan for swimmers in danger and to alert them to danger," said Sgt Michael Clarke, who appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
