Roadworks in Lurgan will lead to diversions

The Roads Service's £120,000 improvement scheme at Edward Street, Lurgan, is set to move into its second phase.

The resurfacing of Edward Street is being carried out in two phases with most elements of the work scheduled to be carried out at weekends.

The first stage of the resurfacing from Millennium Way to Sloan Street is expected to be complete by this Monday.

Work on the second stage of the scheme – from Sloan Street to its junction with the Old Portadown Road – will mainly take place at weekends and will involve road closures between Hill Street and Old Portadown Road from 6pm on Saturday, February 22 until 6am on Monday, February 24, and from 6am on Sunday, March 2 until 6am on Monday, March 3.

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors it will necessary to have diversions in place.

These will be clearly signposted via roundabout 1, Tullygally East Road, roundabout B, Tandragee Road, Union Street and Millennium Way.
