Robberies investigated

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at Kings Crescent, Newtownabbey, on June 26.

Shortly after midnight a man was locking up at the rear of a shop when three young males wearing hooded tops approached him.

One of them punched the man on the mouth before all three made off with his wallet containing cash and a driving licence.

The police are also investigating a robbery at a bookmaker’s shop in Northumberland Street, Belfast, on Friday evening (June 25).

Two men, wearing hooded tops with scarves covering their faces, entered the shop at around 8.30pm. One of the men remained at the door whilst his accomplice made his way to the counter producing a silver handgun. They made off with a sum of cash.
